Doctor Visit Card Applications

As you may be aware, the government recently announced the expansion of free GP care to all children under the age of 8 and to households earning below the new median income threshold. Eligible current practice patients can apply in the coming months as follows:
· If your child is aged 6 or 7, you can apply online for a Doctor Visit Card from 11th August 2023.
· If your household earns below the median income (€47,000 per year after deductibles) you can apply online for a Doctor Visit Card. The extension of free GP care on income grounds will take place in two phases, on September 11th and November 13th.

Please note that all patients applying for a new Doctor Visit Card are asked to apply to the below GPs in the practice. This will not affect your choice of GP to attend but will help us to manage our patient lists effectively.

About Ridgewood Medical Centre
Ridgewood Medical Centre was established in 2005 by Dr. Clodagh Brennan and Dr. Lucy Lynam, who both graduated from UCD in 1994. We have grown the practice from scratch to service the population of Ridgewood and the surrounding area of Swords and North County Dublin. We have had the pleasure of looking after our patients during pregnancy to taking care of their now tall teenagers. It has been a privilege and an honour to watch the practice grow.
We provide a full range of general practice services, including chronic disease management, health screening, antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and regular check-ups. We place an emphasis on preventative medicine focusing on risk factors for chronic disease, such as heart disease and diabetes, and try to address these risk factors before they evolve into a life limiting condition.
